St. Henry Church pre-Vatican II

In response to some questions about what St. Henry looked like pre-Vatican II, Rick Barr of the Catholic Telegraph sent me this photo.



I have the attached image of the magnificent altar of St. Henry Church pre-Vatican II. The photo in our files is undated and I don’t know who took the photo. Coincidentally, I scheduled a post about St. Henry Parish for the CT photo blog this morning.

    Thanks for the post, Russ. Placing the pictures (new and old) next to each other, it's hard to believe that it's the same church.

    The post-Vatican II renovation of this church is yet another example of the atrocious sham of revisionist liturgists. What a tremendous loss. What replaced the high altar smacks of the worst tawdriness of aesthetically tasteless clergy.

    OMG, and I thought our "renovation" was bad. I will make to pass on this POS when we make our trip through the area. The parishioners should be embarrassed by this ecclesiastical disaster.
