Real vs Electronic - Flip Phone Tour

Finding electronic votive candles in place of real ones at the St. John Catholic Church in Fryburg took me a little by surprise. They are the first ones I have came across since I have been touring the churches. I would love to hear from my Catholic Followers on how they feel about the electronic votive candle vs a real one.

Pieta Statue - Flip Phone Tour

I have posted similar pictures of St. John's Pieta so this will look familiar to some of you. It is such an iconic figure and add that to the back drop mural and it is simply just too beautiful not to take a snap. I caught it today it great window light. Not too bad for a flip-phone.

It has been quite sometime since my last post. I took a bike ride today and as luck would have it I went right by the St. John Church in Fryburg Ohio. I did not have my camera but I did have my Low-Tech-Flip-Phone that did have a camera. So while the quality is not up to my standers I thought it would be neat to start a Flip Phone Tour.

The Flip-Phone I am using is a Verizon Samsung - The cheapest they sell. Only $14.95.

I got this awesome shot of the St. John Steeple in Fryburg, in the early morning light, while waiting on the Mock Turtle 5K race to begin. It is quite possibly the best picture of a steeple I have taken to date.

Ready, Set, GO!

This year's Mock Turtle Soup 5K go off to a great start this year. The race is held in Fryburg and is the kick-off to their Homecoming Celebration sponsored by the St. John Catholic Church.

The race started with a prayer and a blessing and of course the singing of the National Anthem.

And their OFF!

As you can see from the above banner logo, the first race was held in 2010.

Scripture - The Way of the Cross Devotional 

This ends The Way of the Cross Series 1. I hope you have enjoyed this series as much as I have. I just loved the character of the Stations of the Cross of the St. John Catholic Church in Fryburg Ohio. The church holds a Homecoming every year and will be selling these as part of their fundraiser this year. The Way of the Cross Series 2 starts in August and will feature the Stations of the Cross from the St. Michael Catholic Church in Ft. Loramie, Ohio.
