It was extremely windy when I took this. I was hunkered down between my car and the open car door to shield me from the wind. It was so strong I could not stand out in it with out getting jostled by the wind.

Welcome to St. Charles

This is the Status that greets all the visitors to the St. Charles Seminary in Carthagena. The statue is located at the end of the long lane that has become a signature pic for the site.

St. Charles Seminary - Station One

We went camping this weekend with a couple of the grand-boys and had I great time trick or treating at the camp grounds. The pop-up we rented was from Davis Campers in North Star so I stopped at St. Charles and took some pics after I dropped the trailer off.

The large Stations of the Cross that Surround the cemetery look very similar  to the ones at The Shrine of the Holy Relics. Unfortunately some of these are in need of repair and most of them were dirty with litter. Station I - Jesus is Condemned - pictured here was one of the better ones.

And yes I used a little post processing magic to add a little pizazz .

St. Thomas and Columns

When taking pictures of stained glass I look to see if I can find an interesting angle or composition. I liked the way the columns framed the stained glass window of St. Thomas.

St. Charles Seminary (Gargolye)

I took this while visiting the Saint Charles Seminary in Carthagena. I have always been a fan of gargoyles so I just had to get a picture of one. There are several that adorn the building. I really like the play of angles and other geometric patterns that make up the image.

This is one of many modern style Stained Glass Windows I found in the St. Charles Seminary. The date on the window is 1950. This picture is made up of two shots. One upper and one lower.

Organ and Stained Glass

I took this one while visiting the St. Charles Seminary in Carthagena Ohio. I liked the contrast of the stained glass window with the metal and wood of the organ.

These pictures of the St. Charles Seminary were taken on my Black and White Film trip awhile back. I plan on coming back in the spring for another session in color.



I was surprised to find the gargoyles and am looking forward to getting some close-ups on my next visit.
